According to my travelling standards, I had to be at the central bus station in Zagreb very early. The bus left already at 8:40. For once there were no real surprises during the trip, although a fellow passenger almost managed to produce one. Once in Plitvice I got a taste of the Croatian friendlyness.

On to Croatia
On Saturday, time had come to say goodbye to Slovenia. The journey from Ljubljana to Zagreb is not very far, but was still good for a few surprises. Another good surprise finally was the old town of Zagreb and the many good restaurants.
Hiding
I was glad, I had checked the weather forecast for Friday… a cold front was to come through and temperatures were supposed to drop significantly. Along with the temperature drop, rain was expected. However, I was not exactly prepared what then happened!
The Fastest Way to Ljubljana
On my last day in Venice, I knew I could take it easy. The fastest bus to Ljubljana was only to leave at 11:50 from Venice Mestre, a 12 minute train ride from the island. What followed was a story of how bus rides should not exactly work. The destination of the bus ride, Ljubljana, the Slovenian capital, was however definitively worth the trip.
What Venice is Known For
My second day on my trip to Beijing consisted of kilometers of walking up and down the streets of Venice. Already last night, I got a first impression of all the canals and bridges of this city. Today this impression was confirmed and I got the feeling, that it is impossible to navigate through the city without getting lost a few times.
A Dream Comes True
On October 3, 2011 my dream came true! After saying goodbye to my mother early in the morning, it was time to say goodbye to my father at 10:15, before boarding the train from Fehraltorf to Zurich.
One Small Step
Finally!
I had my last day of work this past Thursday. After the visit to the Cannstatter Volksfest (thanks Markus for organizing!) on Wednesday night it was supposed to be a quiet day. This mostly worked out fine, except just before lunch I got a phone call from my customer that the latest software release wasn’t working. Great news! After about 45 minutes on the phone we figured out what had happened, and so my last software delivery went through just fine. What a relief!
